Malbec World Day 2024

Established in 2011 by Wines of Argentina, Malbec World Day commemorates the introduction of the Malbec grape to Argentina in 1853, under the initiative of President Domingo Faustino Sarmiento and the French soil expert Michel Aimé Pouget. This was a pivotal moment in Argentine viticulture, aiming to elevate the country's wine industry by importing French grape varieties, including Malbec, which found a new and highly suitable home in Argentina.
