La Mancha

La Mancha not only Spain's largest DO by area, but also the single largest demarcated wine growing region in Europe! Taking up a substantial chunk of central Spanish plateau, La Mancha, the home of Don Quixote, is dry, hot in the summer, and cold in the winter. The lack of water means yields are low, and to make up for that the vineyards are immense. All sorts of Spanish and international varieties are grown here.
