The Heitlinger Estate is “an amazing place to make wine”. On January 1, 2009 the Heitlinger estate acquired one of the oldest Wine Estates of the World, the prestigious estate Burg Ravensburg. Heitlinger not only became the second biggest privately owned Estate in the wine growing region, it became one of the leading quality dry Pinot and Riesling producers of Germany. The gentle hills of the area, offer perfect soils for these refreshing, well structured whites. Discover wines where creative composition results in fine tastes, which are refreshingly different: straightforward and spontaneously convincing. Heitlinger’s varietal white wines are shining examples of the perfect accompaniment to a beautiful meal.
Winemaker: Claus Burmeister
Goal: Simple. Create fruity white wines, each of which has its own special character and harmonize with the right dish to form a remarkable ensemble.
Vintage: Germany’s 2011 has been described by Michael Schmidt (jancisrobinson.com) as “a vintage which will be up there with the greats of recent decades, perhaps even vintage of the century.”
“You won’t find the Heitlinger Riesling Trocken Shiny River 2011 from Baden in government stores but look for in private wine shops. Surprisingly fresh and lively for Baden it has a distinct trocken (dry) edge. I love the dry nectarine skin aromas and flavours and its sleek earthy mid-palate and clean fresh finish. A super food wine for fish, chicken and pasta, you name it. This wine will improve most menus. Drink now. Good value.” -- Weingut-heitlinger.de
