Opaque ruby. Pungent, floral red and dark berry scents, along with a smoky mineral quality and a hint of olive; seems like there's more Syrah in here. Spicy blackberry and cherry-cola flavors put on weight with air, picking up an exotic touch of violet pastille. This features a rugged edge, with lots of roasted alder and juniper notes framing a core of fig, blackberry and black cherry paste flavors. Hints of ganache and tar add heft to the finish.
