31 year old Glenrothes, aged from 1988 to 2019 before those wonderful Hunter Laing folks came along and bottled it up as part of the snazzy Old & Rare Platinum range. A very small outturn of only 109 bottles - living up to the 'Old & Rare' moniker, this one.
This dark gold whisky has heather honey, ripe fruits, nutmeg and a touch of liquorice on the nose. Pleasant mint and eucalyptus on the palate along with rich stewed fruits, allspice and a sweet creaminess leading to a long, fruity, slightly peppery finish.
