(fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged for 16 months in French oak barrels, 10 percent of them new) Brilliant ruby-red. Potent, mineral-accented aromas of red and blue fruit preserves, allspice and lavender carry a spicy white pepper overtone. Sweet, seamless and broad on the palate, offering concentrated raspberry and boysenberry flavors, a muskier hint of bitter rhubarb and a jolt of juicy acidity on the back half. Quite nervy for its power, finishing very long, with excellent clarity and subtle tannins that frame the plush fruit. Drink: 2019-2023.
