Critical Acclaim:
The 2013 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru les Perrières has a straight-laced, correct and linear bouquet without the frills of the les Referts. The palate is crisp and more malic than Sauzet’s other premier crus on the entry with dewy Granny Smith apples, freshly sliced pear and orange zest, the finish more austere, but long and “stony” in the mouth. This should be afforded three of four years in bottle because there is good substance within.
