A super effort from this northern Medoc property, owned by the Delon family of Leoville Las Cases, this sleeper of the vintage should be a fine value when released. Tipping the scales at 13.7% alcohol, it is undoubtedly the most powerful Potensac ever produced. A blend of 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Merlot, it exhibits a deep ruby/purple color in addition to plump, juicy, low acid, fleshy, succulent, pure, classic flavors with no hints of over-ripeness or weightiness. It reveals surprising freshness in spite of its high alcohol and heady, intoxicating style. Buy this hedonistic Medoc by the caseful, and enjoy it over the next 7-10 years.

One of the best Potensacs in many years, this elegant 2003 boasts loads of black cherry and currant flavors with hints of damp earth and licorice. The wine is medium-bodied and relatively chunky with good flesh and intensity. It should drink well young yet age nicely for 7-8 years. This 2003 represents a fine value from one of the best run cru bourgeois estates.
