Champagne Pouillon
Champagne Pouillon, officially known as Champagne R. Pouillon & Fils, has been a family-run estate since its founding in 1947 by Roger Pouillon. Located in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, this domaine is now managed by Fabrice Pouillon, who continues the family tradition of producing high-quality champagnes with a focus on terroir and minimal intervention.
The estate spans 6.5 hectares, with 36 parcels of vines situated across some of the finest terroirs in Champagne, including Ay Grand Cru, Mareuil-sur-Ay, and Epernay. The vineyards benefit from diverse soils that contribute to the unique character of their wines. The Pouillon family employs traditional methods, including horse-drawn ploughing, organic farming practices, and hand-picking grapes at peak maturity to ensure the highest quality.
In the cellar, Champagne Pouillon emphasizes natural fermentation with native yeasts and uses a variety of aging vessels, including oak barrels, to enhance the complexity and structure of their wines. The wines undergo a second malolactic fermentation, which adds suppleness and depth. The result is a range of champagnes that are both elegant and expressive of their unique terroir.
