2014 vintage: Deep red. Smoke-accented cherry and black raspberry aromas, along with hints of candied flowers, vanilla and allspice that build in the background. Sappy and broad on entry, offering dark berry, bitter cherry and spicecake flavors that become livelier as the wine stretches out. Harmonious tannins frame the finish, which lingers with strong, spicy tenacity. Score: 92 points -- Josh Raynolds, Vinous, Nov 2017
2013 vintage: I tasted the 2013 Pinot Noir Arley's Leap from barrel last year, so I was eagerly looking forward to re-tasting this from bottle. It has a lovely bouquet with small red cherries, cranberry and orange blossom aromas that are very well defined and demonstrate impressive fruit intensity for a 2013. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, supple redcurrant and strawberry fruit, very elegant in the mouth with satisfying presence on the finish. Perhaps it is not quite as detailed as I was expecting but that should not detract from what is a beautifully crafted Oregon Pinot.
