Chile's Bío Bío Valley produces wines made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, and Viognier. The weather here is more extreme and unpredictable compared to Chile's other winegrowing regions. With its cooler climate and longer growing season, the wines can develop more complex aromatics in whites when compared to hotter areas such as Mapi or Cachapoal.
