A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot, the 2017 Bolgheri Superiore Sor Ugo saw an extended maceration (25 days) and was brought up all in new French oak. Impressive notes of redcurrants, cassis, leafy herbs, and cedar all emerge from the glass, and it's medium to full-bodied, has a solid spice of acidity, outstanding balance, and should evolve for 10-15 years or more. It's an impressive Bordeaux blend from Bolgheri.
