The 2011 Gran Revancha Blend is produced with a majority of Malbec complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and a pinch of Petit Verdot from Drummond, Perdriel and Altamira in Mendoza, and aged for 18 months in 50/50 new and second-fill French oak barrels. It shows a mixture of aromas of very ripe black and blue fruits. It is still very young and a bit muted, with notes of soil and moderate oak influence. With time in the glass the fruit gets shiny, with showy notes of nutmeg and cola. There’s good fruit and acidity to this big, powerful wine, but with good balance, so give it time.
