Domaine Daniel Dampt 2021 Chablis "Beauroy" 1er Cru 750ml

A riper but not exotic nose reflects notes of apple, pear, citrus confit and shellfish. There is once again impressive density and punch to the medium-bodied flavors that coat the palate with sappy dry extract while exhibiting notably better depth and persistence. This is already approachable, though 5 or so years of cellaring should see it at its peak.

Daniel Dampt, continuing a 150-year family legacy in winemaking, has merged his vineyard with his father-in-law, Jean Defaix's. Their estate now spans 30 hectares, with 16 hectares dedicated to Chablis and 14 hectares to Chablis Premier Cru, notably in regions like Vaillons, Fourchaume, Cote de Lechet, Les Lys, and Beauroy. They've recently upgraded their cellar, now featuring stainless steel tanks and modern, efficient equipment. This upgrade has boosted their bottle production to 150,000 annually. Importantly, all of Daniel Dampt's wines are produced and bottled on-site, using grapes exclusively from their vineyards, ensuring distinct personality and quality in each wine. Daniel's sons, Vincent and Sebastien, are now actively involved in the family business, bringing fresh perspectives from their training stints in New Zealand and Australi
