Smoke, forest, moss pervade this spicy Marlborough pinot noir, infiltrating the cherry, raspberry, red currant fruit. Autumnal spices and grapefruit peel stick on the finish, carried by furry tannins. Though the citrus peel gives a subtle lift, I would love a slice less ripe fruit to allow this pinot to shine. As is, chill slightly, and enjoy now with a slight chill and/or mushroom risotto.
