4 Kilos is a relatively new project, started in 2006 literally as a ‘garagiste’ producer on the Mediterranean island of Mallorca. Their eponymous flagship wine is made from 100% old-vine Callet, the late-ripening native grape that produces pale and elegant wines. 2017 was a warm vintage, yielding a fuller wine that still has refreshing acid and a very modest 12% alcohol. Organic hand-picked grapes, fermented in 50% stainless steel and 50% 2500L oak vats.

The wine shows very good freshness and elegance for an extremely warm year. In 2017, they had to sort and select the grapes and ended producing fewer bottles (perhaps 3,000 bottles less than the usual). A triumph for the vintage.
