Weingut Nigl 2015 Gruner Veltliner Gartling 750ml

While fuller-bodied and riper than usual for this bottling (albeit picked in late September and registering barely over 12 percent alcohol), the current Gärtling’s pear and kiwi retain tang and snap, reinforced by fresh lime, and its long finish refreshes while offering mineral intrigue. The result is a satisfyingly succulent, seductively caressing and fascinating performance – what more could one ask for the price? – and one likely capable of delighting for well longer than 99 percent of wine lovers will hang on to any bottles.
