Wayfarer's 2014 Pinot Noir Golden Mean is dark, powerful and inviting. Dark red cherry, plum, menthol, new leather and spice meld together in a supple, open-knit Pinot appears to be built for drinking over the next handful of years. At times, the 2014 feels a bit forced, especially when the alcohol peeks through the fruit. Still, this site is so special that there is more than enough pedigree to compensate for the occasional imperfection.
