This wine is a great example of a Chilean Bordeaux blend that over-delivers for the price. As the winemaker describes, "it has a subtle red currant and redberry-scented bouquet with touches of sous-bois, hazelnut and aromatic herbs that are very attractive. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and pure red berry fruit mixed with black pepper, sage and cured meats. It is very well-balanced and fresh, the finish supple and in tune with the oak."
Critical Acclaim:
(aged for 14 months in small new and used French oak barrels) Brilliant ruby. Mineral-accented black currant, cherry liqueur and tobacco aromas are complicated by cedary oak and licorice nuances that build with air. Seamless, focused and gently sweet, offering bitter cherry, cassis and floral pastille flavors and a hint of cracked pepper. Finishes sappy and long, displaying gentle tannins and lingering vanilla and pepper notes.
