This wine is produced by Bodegas San Alejandro in the DO of Calatayud, Spain. Since its founding in 1962, the winery has built a solid reputation for quality farming and production. The vines are understandably young, ranging between 15 and 30 years old, and are planted at elevations between 700 and 1,100 meters in rocky slate and calcareous clay soils. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel to preserve the fresh and fruity character of the young vines. Aromas of ripe red fruit waft from the glass, followed by light herbaceous notes that are in harmony with the fruity straight-forward palate. Pairs well with white meat, young cheese, or alone as an aperitif.
