Marquis Tasting Note:
Located in the Leyda Valley and established in 1999, Ventolera spans a total of 140 hectares and incredible terroir for white wine production. Vina Litoral is made using the wineries’ best 10% of their grapes. This is a classic style of Sauvignon Blanc for Chile with citrus and some pungent notes (green pepper, canned veg) and a smoothness that coats the palate. Drink now and over the next year and enjoy with salads, light cheese (soft goat, taleggio, brie) and raw vegetables with olive oil.
"The 2011 Sauvignon Blanc Litoral is packed full of ebullient, tropical aromas that offer nectarine, white peach, fresh apricot and passion fruit that is very well-delineated and nigh irresistible. Think of a Marlborough Sauvignon dialed up to "11." The palate is crisp and grassy on the entry. There is a keen thread of freshly cut lime and a lovely, crisp bell pepper finish that is in tune with the tropical undercurrent. It just fades a little on the finish, but otherwise this comes highly recommended. Drink now. 90 points" - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate #204
