Marquis Tasting Note:
Kerasos is the greek word for cherry and is not a name chosen by chance. This wine expresses very pure intense notes of cherry and red fruit, typical of Nero d’Avola from this area. Vines are planted on calcareous and clay hillsides that provide an important differences in day/evening temperatures all of which contributes to a wine with wonderful texture, structure and elegance. I found this wine to have some lifted notes of violet as well as chewy, soft tannins. Sip this on its own, or pair with lighter meat dishes.
