Winemaker's Notes:
Even great Pinot Noir winemakers need a break from the finicky, noble grape once in a while.
Ken Wright, known for his highly-rated, single-vineyard Pinot Noir, introduced a new label in 2001, Tyrus Evan. The name on the vintage western label came from Ken's two son's middle names. The wine, all made in Carlton at Ken Wright Cellars, is from fruit sourced from Ciel du Cheval vineyard in Washington State's Red Mountain AVA and Seven Hills vineyard which lies on the Oregon side of the Walla Walla AVA. Currently, Ken makes a Claret from Ciel du Cheval and a Syrah from Seven Hills. While you may find the original golden yellow label still on store shelves, be sure to keep your eye out for our brand new TE label on newer vintages to come!
