Ricky Evans is one of Tasmania's new wave vintners, turning out highly coveted small lot wines. From Tasmania's Tamar Valley sub-region, this TMV Pinot Noir came from three sites and was fermented via clone, and block, with 25% whole bunch. Savoury and forested, with sinewy tannins wrapping cherry, wild raspberry, crushed rocks, and whiffs of sweet smoke. The palate is downy and soft and edged with branchy green, reflective of the whole bunch. Best taken with a slight chill.
