Trapiche 2011 Gran Medalla Malbec 750ml

The 2011 Gran Medalla Malbec is sourced from Los Arboles in the Uco Valley fermented and aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels, and it is still marked by the oak but there’s a great core of blue fruit and flowers that make it very fragrant and extremely showy. 15-20% of the grapes fermented whole-cluster and it probably generates a little bit of carbonic maceration that lifts the nose and helps fill the mid-palate, with sweet tannins and ripe flavors. This is a very good Malbec. 90 pts. (Wine Advocate #212)
