Terre Des Dames 2017 La Diva Rouge 750ml

La Diva is a concentrated, elegant and supple wine with a nice complexity. 

The originality of this wine comes from its blend: Syrah (55%) and Grenache (35%) with Alicante (15%) from a 100-  year -old vine.

of age giving only 15 hl/ha.  All the grapes are harvested and sorted by hand. 

Classic and natural vinification. Aging in 600 liter barrels, fine grain and discreet French oak, for twelve months.

Terre des Dames still has the same structure as 200 years ago: small plots on different levels, surrounded by low walls and scrubland.

Here, of course, no synthetic pesticides or fertilizers are applied. Most of the year a natural grass cover gives life to the ground – we just keep the row clean with the interstock (and the pickax when necessary...).

We do everything to preserve our old vines: with their deep root system, they are the most resistant to global warming. Our oldest vine is 100 years old, others between 50 and 70. Young vines have been planted in the last ten years. For new plantations – we remain faithful to local grape varieties, which are best suited to our climate.

The great fortune of our valley is its particular microclimate: several springs and underground rivers give a freshness to the roots that are found in the wine. The large barriers of trees and shrubs between the plots maintain the freshness, protect against diseases and guarantee biodiversity.
