Unlike some Chilean wines with "Reserva" on the label, this one comes with a few years already on the bottle. Cinco is the number of points on the star adorning the label, which is also the number grapes used in this red blend. The Cabernet Sauvignon (20%) and Carmenere (30%) are from the Colchagua Valley, which is known for those varieties, and the Syrah (35%) and Pais (5%) are sourced in Maule. For extra juiciness, they added 10% Merlot from the Curicó Valley.
Dense ruby in the glass with aromas of dark fruits, blueberry, and spice. The palate is filled with complex, expressive notes of juicy black fruit, pepper, bay leaf, and vanilla, including secondary notes of plum and raisin. The finish is surprisingly lengthy and complex with some soft wood tones. A must try!
