Holy smokes! This Tapatio tequila is incredible! The Tapatio Excelencia Gran Reserva Extra Añejo is matured for around four years. A combination of casks are used, depending on the batch, including French oak and American oak. Stunning stuff all round!
Nose: Hot caramel apples, intense agave and hidden floral flourish.
Palate: An explosion of earthy notes, brown sugar, traditional tequila spiciness and hint of chocolate, wrapped in a mellow blanket incurred by the oak maturation.
Finish: Extremely long and rich.
Overall: The perfect example of why tequila should be sipped and not shot. These flavours need to be enjoyed!
