The 2010 Winemaker’s Gran Reserva Syrah is aged in barrel for 12 months. It has a dense, blackberry, bilberry and pine scented bouquet that is well defined but still backward. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, ripe, grippy tannins. The acidity is well judged and the oak well integrated towards the finish that leaves dusky black fruit laced with licorice, lingering on the aftertaste. This is an excellent Syrah.
