The 2003 Reserva is 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Tempranillo, and 15% Syrah aged for 14 months in new French and American oak. Saturated purple in color, it offers up a brooding bouquet of toasty oak, tar, scorched earth, and assorted black fruits. Full-bodied, structured, and strapping, the wine is loaded but in need of 6-8 years of additional cellaring to lose some tannin. It has excellent balance so all that is required is patience. Drink this top-flight effort beginning in 2015 through 2035.
