Chateau Ste. Michelle 2014 Sauvignon Blanc Horse Heaven Vineyard
Horse Heaven Hills, Washington
Drinking window: 2015 - 2018
(from vines planted in the 1970s; mostly done in stainless steel but partly in neutral oak; no malolactic fermentation): Pale straw-yellow. Lemon drop, grapefruit and underripe pineapple on the brisk nose. Slightly metallic in its juiciness, but showing a tactile texture and intriguing salinity to its citrus, spice and subtle leesy flavors. From fruit picked early with energy, according to winemaker Raymon McKee. Seriously vibrant Sauvignon Blanc.
