Yet another Marquis Exclusive from Winemaker Ant Moore! He is the producer of the Signature Sauvignon Blanc and Estate Sauv Blanc that both bear his name. Both creations were very well received by our clients and staff alike. According to Moore, Spinning Top is about simple pleasures derived from nature. 

"The wines can be either single vineyard or blends, depending on what makes the strongest and most interesting wine. Having spent a good amount of time making organic and low input wines, I have brought this approach to Spinning Top, whereby, I let the fruit and environment do the work and I just set the wheels in motion so to speak. With low sulphur regimes, the use of wild ferments, extended lees ageing, and the occasional influence of oak, the wines represent the uniqueness of the sites in which the grapes grow, with complexity derived from the forces of nature and judicious blending." -- Winemaker 

Tasting Note:

This is a racy, vibrant, and refreshing expression of Sauv Blanc. Fresh grass on the nose, with lots of fruitiness here: apples, melon, and some citrus. The palate is a lovely mirror of the nose with quite a bit of minerality to balance the rich and complex flavours. The freshness of the wine and pure vitality of the fruit do linger long on the finish. This is a wonderful Malborough Sauv blanc.
