Santa Carolina is one of our favourite Chilean producers that know how to offer great value in a bottle. They also make perfect BBQ wines! From the Colchagua Valley, these grapes are from the Miraflores area, where diurnal temperature shifts and dry breezes create ideal ripening conditions. Hand-picked and fermented in concrete, the grapes are then aged for 8 months in American and French oak before bottling.
Deep aromas of ripe blackberry, cinnamon, and nutmeg greet the nose. More of the same on the medium body palate, with an emphasis on spice during the persistent finish. Serve at your next BBQ or pair with cheese like gouda and edam.
