Description
Made by the saignée method from 100% Merlot grown in BC’s Similkameen Valley, the wine was wild fermented and spent 18 hours on its skins. It features orange zest and watermelon notes with an intriguing spicy undertone.
Winery representative Jesse Harden says Rust Wine Co. is happy to help support the BCHF’s work. “Our winery was built on the idea of valuing the land we farm, but we also value the people who live on that land. We’re proud to be part of the incredibly diverse hospitality industry that plays such an important role in this province.” The BCHF’s Executive Director, Dana Harris, says she’s always amazed by the generosity of individuals and businesses in the hospitality sector. “We’re grateful for the support we receive from the public, but support from within our own community is essential for us to deliver on our mission, which includes not only providing financial assistance to hospitality workers facing financial crisis due to medical circumstances, but also scholarships for up-and-coming individuals in the field."
