A blend of unique vineyard sites, Les Rouges is our homage to the king of the Rhone, Chateauneuf du Pape. Only 65 cases of Pont Neuf "Les Rouges" were produced from our first harvest. Pont Neuf is a new bridge to the old world, a connection between the classic wines from the heart of France and the bold wines of California. the 2010 Pont Neuf "Les Rouges" is a blend of Mourvedre, Syrah, Grenache, and Roussanne, four of the thirteen traditional grapes of Chateauneuf du Pape.
Winemaker's Tasting Notes:
A focused blend of Russian River fruit: 18% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 45% Mourvedre and 2% Roussanne. Bottled in late summer of 2011, Les Rouges shows a deep, plum-violet hue and has developed a silky mouthful of complexity. With aromas of red and black fruits, leather, tobacco, anise and white pepper, the flavors unfold layer by layer in this youthful wine. It compliments a surprising range of foods, and while robust, remains balanced and structured to age well.
