This is Planeta’s ode to Bordeaux. Made on the Menfi coast (Central West), this wine is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc. Soils in the vineyards are deep and stony and somewhat chalky. This wine is made from a selection of the best fruit. It is a powerful and bold red ripe and dense in structure. It sees 100% new barrel aging and has a recommending drinking window of 10-15 years. Pair this with more intense dishes with a depth of flavours - such as casseroles or game. For a vegetarian alternative, try grilled radicchio with mature cheese or almost caramelised roast onions.
