Pio Cesare's 2014 Barbera d'Alba is bright, lifted and nicely focused. Sweet red cherry, cherry pit, white flowers and lively acidity give the wine much of its brisk, salivating personality. This is a strong showing for the vintage. The 2014 was mostly aged in cask, although about 20% of the wine saw some French oak.
