2019 is the second Cuvée to come off Kobau Vineyard on the Golden Mile Bench. The nose is an ultra inviting mix of savoury black fruit aromas with a dusting of spice. As we have experienced in Bolgheri and parts of the Languedoc, the south Okanagan reds come with a savoury herbal, spicy undercurrent that balances off the fully ripe fruit that thrives in the GI. The cabernet franc percentage has risen to the advantage of this label. A drop in chocolate and a rise in umami have made a splendid difference. The southerly aspect of the Kobau Vineyard allows the vines to bask in the early morning sun and escape the heat o the late day. Stock up. This is a winner.
