Bright sparkling yellow with green reflexes, beautiful and charming fragrance of black pepper, accompanied by citrus and field herbs. Juicy and crisp on the palate. How refreshing Veltliner can be! The spicy finish invites you to spend some time with this wine - and some food.

THE VINEYARD is a south-facing slope situated directly nearby a forest resulting in considerable temperature differences between day and night. THE SOIL consists of slighty sandy loess. The vineyard has green-cover, which is opened only at extreme drought.

THE VINES have been approx. 38 years old and are cultivated in a dense of around 4.000 vines/ha. To profit from the rising ground-heat and to reach a high foliage-wall we use a trellis training system at about 60-90 cm and apply the guyot cutting system.

WEATHER CONDITIONS 2011. In the year 2011 the weather couldn‘t be better. The outgrowth happened very early and the blossom as well . During the summer there were many heavy rainfalls, what was indeed very good for the ripeness. This was followed by a dry, warm autumn. A very high ripeness of the berries and dark red wines with intensive colour distinguish this vintage.

THE HARVEST took place by the beginning of October at 18°KMW, picked by hand with a small, well-trained team, which selected the grapes directly in the vineyard.

IN THE CELLAR the grapes have been destemed and squeezed and must was standing approx. 2 hours before being pressed oxygen-free by a pneumatic Inertys-press with low pressure. Fermentation took place with automatic temperature-control at 20°C. Storage happened at stainless steel-tank, after 5 months the wine was bottled in Burgundy bottles.
