A wonderful harmony of fruity Blauer Zweigelt, a traditional Austrian grape, and Cabernet Sauvignon with round cassis. The Cabernet Sauvignon gains minerality in the Terrassen Sonnleiten, where the ground is rocky, hot and dry. Merlot from the vineyard Sandlern brings a full body and round elegance.
Dark purple; dark fruit with tender smokey tones in the nose, plum jam; elegant and powerful with a fulminant pressure on the palate. Good structured, an idea of chocolate and elegant tannines. Fruity and a creamy-tender character, wonderful lenghth. Ideally for a good piece of grilled meat.

The Austrian wine-maker gives a lot of attention to the selection of his vineyards, terroir and the proper grape varieties. Together with his wife and his 3 children he is cultivating 80 hectares of vineyards in the southern part of the wine-region Weinviertel and in Vienna. The magazine Wine-Enthusiast describes his wines as follows: "Roman Pfaffl was voted winemaker of the year in 1996 by the Austrian wine press, and a taste of his wines reveals why. Here are wines with power as well as juicy, fruity flavors. Ripeness and alcohol harmonize easily in these wines. They may be weighty, but they also have a refreshing streak of acidity.
