20 km north of Béziers, 7 small villages form the appellation Faugères. The landscape is wild and here the vines are planted on schist soils, giving the wines a special character. The grapes produced in this Mediterranean climate are easy-drinking from youth and include Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Carignan and Cinsault. The resulting reds are full, round, and powerful with silky tannins.
On the nose, fresh red berries combined with some herbaceousness. On the palate, more of the same, with deep flavours. Very fruity and refreshing on the finish. Rated: Extremely Quaffable!
