Ojai NV Red Wine 750ml

"This Batch is a 50/50 blend of Syrah and Pinot Noir. The Pinot Noir is a blend of all the 2011 Pinots (Solomon Hills, Bien Nacido, Fe Ciega, Puerta Del Mar) racked and bottled in December 2012. The Syrah has both the 2009 and 2010 of each single vineyard (Presidio, Melville, Bien Nacido, Sebastiano, Solomon Hills, White Hawk and Roll Ranch). All these lots were aged in mostly neutral French oak. The Ojai red has more mature components as the wines stay in cask longer waiting until we have a lot that is big enough to bottle. This is why the wine has both fresh fruity elements of lots from recent vintages along with Syrah, already aged longer, with extra barrel time for readiness. The 2009 vintage contribution is power and density while the 2010 is about freshness and delineation. The Syrah is the meaty and smoky side of the wine while the Pinot is the fruit and flower side. Total of 689 cases produced."
