From Chile's Maipo Valley, Morande Pionero is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Carmenere, and 2% Petit Verdot. Most of the wine was fermented in steel; however, about a quarter saw six months in oak. Predominantly dark fruit with hints of blueberry and cherry. Subtle nuances of chocolate and vanilla on the palate with a full-bodied fruit compete texture and weight. With over four years in the bottle, this wine is ready to drink now.
