Description
The Lismore 15 Year Old Single Malt is a Speyside Scotch Whiskey from beginning to end with a distinctly consistent flavor at the front and back of the tongue. This continues down the throat where it’s burn is friendly and unprovoking. This is a scotch that could be enjoyed over an entire, simple, laid-back weekend day.
The Lismore 15’s flavor-forward, woody but not smokey body means that it can be enjoyed with or without something to nosh and on the rocks or off. The only noticeable differences when it’s neat is some additional notes of caramel and a wee bit more burn but this drink is never harsh.
A sniff at the rim of the glass will give the standard sugary, caramel sensations but it’s not overly buttery or aggressive and really just adds to the Lismore 15’s solid standing.
Bottle drank and done, the Lismore 15 is mild, easy and elegant but not simplistic. If there’s one complaint to be had about this libation, it’s that it could potentially not be complex enough for anyone looking for that kind of thing. But that would really just be a personal preference and no fault of this whiskey that could easily be someone’s standard.
