This lightly oaked wine from France's Minervois/ Languedoc Roussillon comprises 85% Chardonnay and 15% Viognier for a touch of spice. About a third of it matured in French and American oak, while the remainder, including Viognier, was left unoaked. Le Grand Noir is great on its own or with a variety of foods, especially fish, chicken, and Chinese takeout. Sporting a Pays d'Oc designation, this is a modern French wine in a New World style. Satisfying, fresh, and rich with lots of flavours. Pineapple dominates with subtle hints of oak, mango, and ginger.
