“The La Mascota 2013 Malbec is sourced from a classical zone, Cruz de Piedra in Mendoza. It is also quite classical itself, fermented in stainless steel and matured in French and American oak barrels for one year. Although the zone is better known for Cabernet it seems like the Malbec also works quite well here, close to the Mendoza River. It shows a perfumed nose with the telltale aromas of violets and plums.
