The 2013 Reserve Pinot Noir is decadent, savoury and commanding.
The captivating aromatics offer an intricate fusion of red and dark fruits with key notes of ripe Italian prune plums, wild Alpine strawberries and Bing cherries. Subtly intertwined amongst the juicy notes are clove spice, West Coast forest floor and blackberry bramble. All this is delivered in a richly, layered palate supported by fine grain tannins -- all of which are the hallmarks of a great Pinot Noir.
Exclusively grown in our Desperation Hill Vineyard, the 2013 Reserve Pinot Noir is a well-balanced blend that consists of Dijon clone 828 (33%) which contributes to the dark fruit characteristics; Dijon clone 667 (33%) highlights the earthiness and contributes to the overall structure; and Dijon clones 115 and 91 make up the balance, to enhance the red fruit notes present.
