The 2013 vintage was a very good one for reds in the Clare Valley. Warm days and cool nights promoted full fruit ripeness and flavour development whilst still retaining tremendous poise, natural acidity and tannin balance. An excellent year for enhanced cellaring potential. All of our Killerman's Run range have been crafted through careful fruit selection, traditional winemaking techniques, sixteen months maturation in new and seasoned French oak hogsheads and bottling unfiltered to fully enhance the wines character and appeal. Dark ruby in colour with youthful crimson tints; on the nose, there's aromas of musk, rose petal and liquorice craftily interweave with notes of French oak char and woodsmoke. On the palate it's silky and textural on the palate yet one that strikes a balance between richness and vivacity. The flavours of licorice, dark cherries and mocha chocolate feature strongly and meld seamlessly with the peppery tannins and firmed acidity. Pair with chorizo and mushroom risotto.
