Ken Wright 2011 Meredith Mitchell P.N. 750ml
The wines from this Vineyard are very distinct and unique and I've always enjoyed the different style you get from this vineyard. I'll let Ken himself sum up the wine though: "The wines tend to be fairly structured," Wright says of Meredith Mitchell fruit. "You could say that in our cellar, they represent something that would be very, very age-worthy. The combination of tannin and acid creates a lot of structure. They are not immediately generous. They are not ebullient, smash-mouth, in-your-face wines. They take time to mature and become agreeable. This is the vineyard the I find produces Kens most distinct wine. While most of his wines are smooth and polished, this wine has more edge to it, and has an always interesting savoury and herbal edge to it along with the mineral and brambleberry notes.
