Bright ruby-red. High-pitched aromas of raspberry, licorice and spices. Juicy wine with a touch of fruit sweetness overshadowed by spicy, smoky oak. Finishes with modest length. A distinctly commercial style but not bad for the low price. Only 40% of this wine was aged in second- and third-use French oak but I would have guessed more.
